When HMK decided to partner with Truth for Women we aimed to do a clothing drive. However, after being educated about their mission, providing restorative care for sexually exploited women and increasing awareness on sex-trafficking, our project and our own awareness became much broader. HMK held a clothing drive to support their boutique retail store, detailed the van used to transport their clients to counseling, held a food drive for their safe house, donated a standing freezer, participated in their annual 5k fundraiser, and finished the basement of their safe home to function as a craft and workout space. Luckily, we had a few clients and family members who stepped in to help us along the way during this project! We are thankful for them and Truth for Women for the work they do in our community and for this experience.
