At their Topton, PA location, they specialize in engineering and manufacturing floating marinas, rowing centers, gangways, and adaptive docks. Northeast Products & Services, Inc. has been called upon by rowing associations, universities and cities to create their unique one-of-a- kind products branded as Boardsafe Docks. In looking closer at the Boardsafe Dock products, the expertise and innovation of this business have an impact far greater than those requiring a water facing structure. Owner, Scott Tihansky, is an individual who knows the value of relationships and impacting the greater good. Scott first felt the inclination to open his business while researching a boat dock for his personal home in Delaware. He started selling supplier products for docks, but quickly noticed the suppliers were unable to customize structures to meet the growing demand for such products. Scott started Northeast Products & Services, Inc. and surrounded himself with a team that would carry the company to where it is today. Team members such as Plant Manager, Jason Strozyk, are credited for the success of the company as a result of dedication and inventive thinking behind the execution of their designs. Together Northeast Products & Services Inc. has designed and engineered over twenty unique proprietary extrusions (objects with a definitive cross-sectional profile used in the building of their products). Their unique designs result in the creation of aluminum structures that are innovative and customized to meet their client’s needs. It is this ability to solve any customization request or challenge that truly sets them apart from the competition.
An incredible example of this innovation is their line of adaptive docks. Northeast Products was approached to develop an ADA fishing pier and accessible kayaking dock for Leaser Lake in Lehigh County. The finished dock allows those with disabilities to realize the capability of launching a kayak into the water and returning independently. Witnessing the great impact this adaptive dock has had on those with disabilities resulted in these unique docks quickly becoming a passion product for the company. They have since developed accessories to accompany the adaptive dock line and have constructed “clip on” adaptive docks to make the product more widely available.

Ken Ryno, the adaptive athlete in the video, was later hired by Northeast Products after this launch. Ken works as the Adaptive Dock Specialist and offers valuable input on the design of the products. He also contributes to the sales efforts and communicating the value of the product to the public as well advocating accessibility issues.
